THE ADULT PROGRAM

A chance to challenge yourself and grow.
For any professional or adult resident of UA.

Since 1988, the Leadership UA Adult Program has illustrated what it means to be a community leader. An eight-month course, the Adult Program typically begins in late September and concludes in May. During the program you will attend a leadership retreat, collaborate on a class project, and engage with a wide variety of your peers at our bi-weekly classes held in locations throughout the community.

Curriculum

The program curriculum covers a variety of topics, including leadership development, how to be an involved member of the community, and practical information about how the City of Upper Arlington operates.

Curriculum includes:

  • Two Thursday evening meetings a month, totaling approximately 40 classroom hours

  • Speakers from or visits to the Upper Arlington Fire Department, Libraries, Police, City Council, Upper Arlington Schools and other community organizations.

  • Presentations by visiting experts throughout the course including a local leadership panel.

A simple dinner or snacks are provided at the beginning of every evening session.

Class Project

The culmination of what you’ve learned in class, your class project is intended to be of lasting benefit to Upper Arlington. Everyone in the class plays a role in the project, and the class will divide up responsibilities and management.
