The world is looking for great leaders to follow.
May 4, 2018
In order to become those leaders to the outside, we have to lead ourselves first. We must walk the walk. It’s like the flight attendants tell us – please remember to wear your own oxygen mask before helping others.
In 2018, Leadercast will be focusing on that very concept. How do you lead yourself effectively? How do you develop your core principles and values so that your leadership is an outpouring of your innermost self? And how much more will those who follow you benefit from your leadership when you lead yourself well?
Throughout the year, a variety of live events, digital learning platforms and interactive tools will help you explore these questions and more understand how to lead yourself first, so you can lead others well.
At Leadercast Live in 2018, the speakers who will take the stage will inspire you to lead yourself, so you can lead your families, your organizations and your communities.
This includes author and speaker Michael Hyatt, who will share his thoughts on personal productivity, authentic leadership, and building more margin into your life. Michael’s leadership and personal coaching is highly sought after, and it’s a gift to learn how to lead ourselves from someone who practices what he preaches.

October 19th is UA Candidates’ Night!
We are pleased to host Upper Arlington Candidates’ Night on Thursday October 19th from 6-9pm at the UA Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road.
This gathering gives UA residents an opportunity to meet and question local community leaders and candidates for UA City Council and UA School Board.
This is a free event open to the public.
“With four UA City Council seats up for election and two UA School Board seats open, as well as other issues on the ballot, this proves to be an active and exciting election year.” says Thad Boggs, Leadership UA Board President. “We urge all UA residents to be informed about the candidates running for office and we are pleased to provide this opportunity for our residents to meet the candidates in person and ask important questions.”
Candidates running for office are:
UA School Board Candidates: Two candidates running for two open seats – Carol Mohr (Incumbent), and Scott McKenzie.
UA City Council Candidates: Eight candidates running for four open seats – Michaela Burris, Brian Close, Bob Foulk, Omar Ganoom, Kip Greenhill (Incumbent), Michelle Hoyle, Jim Lynch, and Lowell Toms.
The event is scheduled as follows:
6:00 to 7 PM – Informal open house in the lobby of the Upper Arlington Municipal Building. We urge the public to attend to take advantage of this opportunity to meet their local candidates and community leaders face to face. Leadership UA has invited all candidates for City Council and School Board to participate in our open house. In addition, the UA School Bond/Levy committee will have representatives in attendance.
7 to 9 PM – A moderated question and answer forum with the local candidates will occur in the Council Chambers. Candidates for the Upper Arlington School Board and the Upper Arlington City Council will be participating in this forum. The question and answer session will be moderated by Kurt Ludlow, localnews anchor for ABC6/Fox 28.
Leadership UA is committed to providing our community with opportunities to interact directly with their elected officials. We invite you to submit your questions for the candidates to be posed during the Q&A panel discussion by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or click here, no later than 5pm October 18th.
